Cameron Associates Software

Installation Instructions

To start using Cameron Associates tools please complete the following steps.  Please read this page and your software documentation before contacting Cameron Associates support.

1. ORDER the software.

2. PAY by mailing us a check.

3. DOWNLOAD the software by clicking the download link in your Software Download email, which you will receive after your payment is verified.

4. OPEN or Save the zip file.

5. EXTRACT the zip file into the home directory of your choice (e.g. C:\Program Files\Cameron Associates\).
   
   NOTE: Please contact your system administrator or computer owner if you receive an error when opening your software which forces it to close and you are told that you do not have adequate permissions. Please also read the tool tutorial document for more information.

6. SET Microsoft Excel's macro security level to MEDIUM. Every time you use a Cameron Associates tool simply select Enable Macros at the security warning prompt. (Image 3) For instruction on how to set macro security level please read this.

7. PRESS the Activate/Renew License button. Then feed in your username and password to activate your software. You will need an internet connection to complete this step.
   
   NOTE: Only one 45-day trial license is valid per machine: you will not be able to activate two 45-day licenses - rather you must move to a paid license after your 45-day trial. Also, time based licenses will NOT accumulate so please do not use different time based activation codes until your existing time based license runs out."

8. Now you are ready to use your new Cameron Associates tool. You can see the license duration on the software worksheet or by clicking on the Renew License button for the Monte Carlo Tool.

Changing Microsoft Excel Macro Security Level Instructions:

1. OPEN Microsoft Office Excel

2. GO to Tools/Macro/Security... (Image 1)

3. SELECT the 3rd option: "Medium. You can choose whether or not..." (Image 2)

4. Every time you use a Cameron Associates tool simply select Enable Macros at the security warning prompt. (Image 3)

Medium Macro Security Level will allow you to prevent undesirable macros from executing while keeping the functionality of macro tools such as Cameron Associates software.
